System Of A Down

Post by Antonius Block on Sat Jul 11, 2009 5:59 pm

I forgot how fucking good the self-titled album is, holy fucking shit. Seriously, later on, releases like Mesmerize/Hynotize had me thinking the band was a one trick pony, and they became like that but FUCK the s/t and Toxicity are NICE. Cam, thank you for reminding me.

I'm glad I'm not the only one here who likes em
I've been a huge fan of them for a while, one of the few bands I still like from when I was a music n00b. I'll probably always enjoy em

Same man. I have distinct memories of living in Florida of everyday, my older stepsister blasting the radio from her room, and hearing Aerials and Chop Suey all the time back when Toxicity just came out.

Yeah, man..
This stuff brings back serious memories.

I remember singing Aerials all the time with one of my buddies during science class, circa 7th grade. That was during the same time period where I was like "FUCK YEAR! I'm a badass! I listen to HEAVY music! (which translated to.. like.. Master of Puppets, Iron Maiden, Tool.. Cool )

For what it's worth, though.. I enjoy their most recent album the most. Mezmerize was kind of shit, but Hypnotize is my favorite. It's a bit over-polished, and obviously radio-rock-y, but a lot of the songs on there are really good.

I agree with this.
I stopped listening to them when they came out with BYOB. Their style isn't that great to begin with then throw in some used up "political commentary" and you have the perfect band.
