Reverend Bizarre Empty Reverend Bizarre

Probably one of the best bands to have risen in doom metal in the past 10 years. Originally planning to release a series of five albums, they cut it short and left us with an aptly titled album So Long Suckers and a slew of material rare or unreleased. The first album In The Rectory of the Bizarre Revered (An homage to King Crimson is always good) is the definitive Reverend Bizarre album, showcasing their songwriting abilities, musicianship, heavy sound, and great vocals. II: Crush the Insects, while getting a lot of flak, even from me, for being to streamlined and seemingly watered down is still a good album chock full of rocking tunes. So Long Suckers, perhaps my favorite of the three albums and numerous EPs (which may as well be full-length albums), seems to use the ideas of In The Rectory... and Crush the Insects to create what I feel is their magnum opus. The length of the album may intimidate some, spanning over an hour in length, but listening to songs like Teutonic Witch/They Used Dark Forces, Caesar Forever, and Anywhere Out of this World, makes me feel as if no time had went by at all. Definitely a band to check out as they're one of the more important bands in the last decade.

I own quite a lot of albums of theirs. I have In the Rectory of the Bizarre Reverend plus Return to the Rectory on a double CD, II: Crush the Insects, Harbinger of Metal and (III:) So Long Suckers. I'd have their vinyl split with Electric Wizard, too, if I wasn't too late. They probably have some of the most memorable melodies I have heard so far.

I have the Deceiver/Dark World 7". the split with that really long Finnish(?) band, you know with the woman opening what looks like an LP gatefold. Yeah. I've got the In the Rectory/Return DCD, too, and SLS. Just need to get Harbinger and Crush. Idk, if I'm going to grab all the unreleased stuff they've been putting out.

OH AND CAM! Do you remember that limited to 20 pink shirt with the bear masturbating to the bible and drinking alcohol? I wish I had that shirt :( But I do have that little business card insert of it.

I have started saving up my money for the "In the Rectory ...", "Return to the Rectory" and the SLS boxed set!

Which makes me think but not think at the same time, Dan, would you still like to trade/whatever for that Precambrian vinyl album thing I have?

My favorite song off of SLS is still Anywhere Out of this World. It's the most soulful performance I've ever heard out of Reverend Bizarre and most doom, it's wonderful.
