Boris?
Anyone here into Boris?
I've been listening to their album Pink a lot recently, and I can't get over how good the guitar tone is on it.
It's one of those instant in-pants ejaculation things.

Re: Boris?
I've always found Pink to be the stain on their near flawless discography. :( Even Smile was better.
Heavy Rocks is awesome, Flood is awesome, jees I dunno what Boris album isn't awesome. Seeing them live was a definite highlight of my puny and insignificant life.
Edit:WITH Michio Kurihara, psychedelic legend even!

Heavy Rocks is like heaven with guitars and Japs, and I've loved what I've heard of Pink so far.

Re: Boris?
Flood is my favorite album by far, next would probably be Akuma No Uta or the collab. with Sunn. Akuma no Uta has "Furi" and that other song like it that's fuckin' FIERCE.

Re: Boris?
Definitely one of my top three favourite bands, without question. Can't say that I have heard every single album they have ever put out, but I think atleast a quarter of them (which is quite a heap, still). I own Pink, which I found a bit mediocre but fun, and Amplifier Worship, which is just a divine fest of sludgy breakdowns, psychedelic throbbing bass lines, immense drumming and a masterly drone piece to end. Absolutego easily blows Sunn's first efforts at drone out of the water, by miles. Flood is unequalled in its experimental looping start, musical metaphors and droning-the-life-out-of-one-awesome-riff and puts most of the post-rock that I know to shame. Feedbacker is damn fucking magic indeed, I have no clue how they pulled it off but they took a wall of noise and turned it into the pillow of pillows! I have only heard the first piece of the "The Thing Which Solomon Overlooked" so far, but fucking hell, it made me sad that I haven't done it earlier. It is probably their most eerie and avant-whatever piece so far.
Oh, and I have experienced Flood live in one of the best venues of my country, too. And I'm wearing my dronevil final shirt atm. :3 If anyone would be able to find me the first version (so that's just "dronevil"), I will be FOREVER GRATEFUL!

What is it like? It is very high on my 'must listen to' list, but I really have no clue of what to make up out of the cover art.

Re: Boris?
Hmmm..
Pink is all I've heard so far and I really dig it, like I said.
I need to get some more of their stuff - hit up the torrents or something. Maybe just try the rapidsearch thing on 4chan. Anyway.. where should I go from here? I hear from most people that I talk to that Flood is their best shit.
Great band, though.. I'm jealous of you guys that have seen them live.

If you're going to the VFW show tomorrow, I can bring you a burned copy of Heavy Friends.

Tommorow?
I hadn't heard anything about that. Who's playing? What time is it? I dunno if I can make it, but I'll try to head over there.
